Saltwater Fishing Club

There are many Club Activities for almost every interest however until recently, there was no mechanism for saltwater anglers to share their love of fishing. Thus, a newly formed Saltwater Fishing Club has been formed. The club is open to all members regardless of whether they presently fish or own a boat. The purpose of the Club is to promote fishing in the adjacent St. Lucie River and in offshore waters. Its initial seminar was on the basics of river fishing. There will be monthly seminars by knowledgeable members and guest speakers. Captain George Gozdz, a local premier fishing guide specializing in river fishing, will present a seminar on November 1st, 2011. In December, Lure Manufacturer, D.O.A., will present a seminar on the use of artificial lures. Many more seminars will follow; monthly tournaments will be held. Shooting Club

We have many sporting enthusiasts at Harbour Ridge who enjoy shooting clays & traps at one of the many local shooting clubs. The meet weekly or more often to enjoy camaraderie and the sport.

Birding Society

BIRDERS MEET EVERY MONDAY- SPECIAL TRIPS & LECTURES ARE PLANNED Harbour Ridge is a community dedicated to the preservation of nature. The Birding Society sponsors lectures and weekly on site ground trips together with multiple off site field trips. The ponds at Harbour Ridge are stocked annually with bass for the many species of birds that the fish attract. With over 100 different species of birds spotted at Harbour Ridge, this society aids member appreciation and is dedicated to the preservation and conservation of our nature. Artisan Club

SPECIAL TRIPS & EXHIBITIONS! Harbour Ridge is fortunate to have many talented artists as members. All artists and aspiring artists are invited to join the “Artisan Club”. The Artisan Club sponsors an annual “Art Show” in the Clubhouse for all members to exhibit and sell their artistic endeavors.

Garden Club

You do not need a green thumb to join our Garden Club, everyone is welcome. Trips, shows, luncheons & lots of fun.

Odyssey

Odyssey is a lecture series presented in the Clubhouse. Speakers include members whose profession, previous occupation, or hobbies are of interest to their fellow members. Odyssey also engages outside speakers to speak on matters that are of particular interest to our members. Past guest speakers include: Robert Crandell, former CEO American Airlines, Wayne Huizenga, Robert Gast, former Assistant FBI Director. There is always a special dinner before each lecture.

Games: Cards & Backgammon

DUPLICATE & SOCIAL BRIDGE EVERY FRIDAY LADIES BRIDGE EVER WEDNESDAY If you like to play cards, Harbour Ridge offers everything from weekly schedule Bridge groups including mixed doubles and duplicate, to gin rummy and poker – of course, in the men’s locker rooms!
Backgammon is also popular and scheduled lesson are available for beginners.

Mah Jongg is popular and played every Friday.

Fishing

“That’s Some Little Fisherman!” Stuart is the Sailfish Capitol of the World. Harbour Ridge is located on the mile and a half wide St. Lucie River with 3 docking pods for 98 boat slips and easy access to the St. Lucie River Inlet and the Atlantic Ocean. Fishing on our rivers and estuaries provide fun and relaxation for your entire family. After playing golf, fishing in our on site ponds and lakes is a favorite pastime for many members. Several times a year, ponds at Harbour Ridge are stocked with bass not only for the fisherman but for the many species of birds that the fish attract. Many of our members enjoy early morning fly fishing off our 2 ½ mile shoreline especially with one of our members who is an acknowledged expert fly fisherman and who is happy to help his fellow members.

Chorale

EVERY MONDAY – 2-DAY CONCERT PRESENTED IN APRIL. Chorale meets every Monday afternoon to prepare for a spring concert which is very professional and always “sold out”.

Kayaking

Great way to experience nature on the wide St. Lucie River while exercising. Beginners and seasoned “kayakers” welcomed. This is something you will want to try.

Stitch

a.k.a. Stitch & Bitch! Needlepoint, crochet, cross-stitch & knitting. This is a fun way for all to meet once a week and chat. All are welcomed: beginners to advanced pros. Instructions are avaiable.

Book Clubs

Do you like to read? Harbour Ridge has numerous Book Clubs for all members to choose from. Whatever your interested, contemporary fiction, to classical literature, there will be a club to accommodate.
